wow at 6:30 am the local news reported 33 degrees in Port Richey Fl. which is just about 5 miles south of beautiful downtown Hudson where we live. Definitely frost on the pumpkin as we always say when its cold. We moved south to get away from the cold. sheesh can't get a break even with the weather. Need to have a talk with the big guy upstairs. heheheheheheh

Since this is a sub -tropical climate when we get a freeze like this all the temperamental plants have to be covered.
Maggie has done a fine job again covering the her precious babies!
Keeping warm is of the utmost importance and we use Florida oak to keep the chill out of the house.
Wood is a renewable resource and Florida has some really good programs in place to replace the forests that are cut down and I personally use oak from dead trees that nature is thinning out. We have several sources where people are thinning out the dead wood which allows the new trees to grow better and nature replaces what was taken. We heat our house solely with wood, No gas or oil just an occasional electric backup at the other end of the house. Its our way of going green! Our electric company is a co-op owned by the people who use it. Just another way to recirculate the profits back into the economy.
I didn't get anywhere with the Center for Bone and Joint Disease. The girl that I spoke with said that the $350 she quoted me for the office visit already included the discount for being self pay. Well she really didn't explain that well, as she never said the words, its $459 and with the self pay discount it will be around $350. She just implied it. Thats highway robbery. I saw a PA not a real doctor and it was for about 10 minutes. Their proud huh. The x rays were extra, $146 and $129 respectively. Man i have the Vaseline nearby but it still hurts. The reason I was self pay is the crappy insurance i have doesn't pay enough even though the facility is in the network they want the co-pay, what the insurance company pays and more. so it was cheaper for me to take the self pay option. These kinds of practices are what are contributing to the whole crisis in our country.
So I am trying to supplement my meager income with my web business;s because I can deal with them on my own time and I don't have someone breathing down my shoulder constantly. works fine with my BCBS insurance. I just got told I need surgery on my right shoulder. Probably will wait awhile.
